COACH EDUCATION AT THE DAVID BECKHAM ACADEMY
The David Beckham Academy has become an approved centre to deliver FA/1st4sport qualifications. We now offer a wide range of courses to meet your individual needs and develop as a coach. All courses are held at The David Beckham Academy in Greenwich, which provides state of the art indoor facilities for both practical coaching and classroom based learning. The David Beckham Academy aims to provide all coaches with the best support programme available to assist them in obtaining the relevant qualifications.

LEVEL 1 CERTIFICATE IN COACHING FOOTBALL
Course Duration – 27 Hours Price - £135
Who is it for?
Anyone who is over 16yrs of age and would like to gain a basic understanding of football coaching techniques and practices and receive a Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football.
What will I Learn?
- Safely organise and supervise football activities including mini soccer, small sided games and conditional games.
- Introduce progressions at the right time.
- Promote and establish working relationships and high standards between players, coaches, parents and officials.
- Understand different aspects of coaching children.
- Identify and adapt football activities and sessions for a variety of different age groups.
- Identify personal development opportunities in football including sports therapy, administration and officiating.

LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE IN COACHING FOOTBALL
Course Duration – 90 hours Price - £325
Who is it for?
Minimum age of 17
Pre-requisites
It is advised that you hold the Level 1 Certificate in coaching football, but not essential. However, you are required to attend a child protection workshop before your final assessment. Emergency aid and laws of the game are included in the course.
The practical element of this course is physically demanding and candidates should be reasonably fit.
What will I learn?
- Develop an appreciation of the ethical coaching process.
- Plan, conduct and evaluate a series of football coaching sessions.
- Coach the basic skills and techniques of football.
- Promote and establish positive working relationships at all levels.
- Ensure the health and safety of players and others within the coaching environment.
- Develop greater responsibility for personal learning and development.
- Promote the sport in a positive and constructive manner.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of attack and defence through the use of practices and small sided games.

- One, 35minute Practical Coaching Session on a specific topic, which must include a technique, skill and game related practice (min 4v4).

Course Duration – minimum 60hrs Price - £435
Who is it for?
- Holders of the FA Coaching Certificate Level 2
- Coaches of Players aged 14 - Open Age
- Coaches of Advanced Representative or Professional Youth Teams
What will I learn?
- Coach advanced individual techniques, group skills and principles of play to groups of players.
- Develop an understanding of the coaching process, the needs of the players, as this relates to children, teenagers and adults.
- Display knowledge of related Sports Science issues.
- Plan and prepare coaching sessions in relation to a match programme & evaluate the process.
- Maintain the health and safety of players and other coaches.
- Maintain high standards of conduct to promote Association Football.
