MY SCHOOL DAY VISITSO MUCH TO DOWe were collected from school by The David Beckham Academy VW minibuses and driven to the Academy. Inside, we walked through the Adidas experience where there were loads of pictures, boots and signed shirts from David Beckham’s career. Warm-up - Each team is a different country – we were Brazil! We went out onto the huge indoor pitches and the coaches taught us how to warm-up. Team-Building Challenge - We had to work together to transfer balls using both our hands and feet around a course. We won 3 gold tokens for our team. Snack Time- We went to the Canteen and had a re-hydration drink and cereal bar. Role-Play Challenges – Working in pairs, we all had to complete one of six different role-play challenges. We were either the Manager, Physio, Scout, Nutritionist, Sports Journalist or Fitness coach. Lunch Time – After a busy morning it’s time to eat. We all bought out own healthy packed lunches. Points are given for the healthiest lunches! Matches - After another warm-up we played the first of 3 short matches against the other teams. We got points for lots of things including good sportsmanship, not letting in any goals and winning. Presentation – After the cool-down the winners were announced and everyone gave them a big cheer. Everyone got a certificate and football to take home. After the presentations, we got changed and then got in the minibuses and headed back to school. It was a great day. |
